Interesting read! I have enjoyed this series quite a bit myself and am a huge fan of the art especially, and of course you can’t go wrong with Brian Wood writing it.
I just wanted to comment here because I found that one commenter, shawn, to be pretty ridiculous. I am sure you are used to getting shit for noting the issue of hypersexualizing of female characters, but seriously dude needs to get over it. It’s funny for someone to think these 1 or 2 women need to stop calling out sexism in comics and just go away – comics are by no means a man’s domain anymore, wake up! There are quite a few of us out there, and as women who want to be a part of this community, we are going to gravitate towards and put our money into stories and characters (super or not) that have a sense of realism and believability.

@Paske: Thanks. Yeah, I am pretty used to getting hassled at this point on CSBG/SHNH, but I never really accept it…I always think things will get better and I’m constantly surprised by what riles people up…most recently (in addition to commenter Shawn) would be the negative reaction to the Hope Larson piece and being called a hypocrite because I didn’t think Scarlet #1 was horribly objectifying. I’ve given up on trying to know what’s going to piss these people off…and sometimes it’s exhausting…but comments like yours make it worth it. So thanks for stopping by.
