I don’t mind the rap song. Liked the podcast and its one of the comic podcasts i’ll listen on a weekly basis. Someone was talking (I think Lisa) about liking Pepper’s development under Fraction and Kelly Sue. Fraction answers a reader’s question about why Pepper was made Rescue in his interview with John Siuntres on word balloon (part 2). Its around the 7 minute mark if any of you ladies were interested.

    I ALSO ENJOY THE RAPPING

Ya know…it really depresses me that I don’t hear any women talking about Terry Moore’s Echo. Am I the only woman reading this amazing book? Nothing Marvel and DC has done (with the exception of Batwoman) comes close to Echo. It has great, strong, funny, real, female characters. It has gay characters portrayed as actual real people and not characatures. Hearing on the podcast that Rucka is one of the few writers out there that can write good female characters and then see Terry Moore’s echo ignored just really bums me out.

@Maverickman874. Thanks for listening and for saying you’ll come back – that’s what we hope for! I’ll check out the interview – thanks for the heads up.

@Ross. Rap is pretty damn good.

@Destruct-O-Tron: Hmm…I wonder why YOU like it? 😉

@Vantine: I had originally read the first issue of Echo and not fallen in love, but I recently read the first trade and really loved it. So I expect I’ll be talking about it over on She Has No Head! for sure, if not on 3 Chicks. There was a time when Terry Moore was my absolute favorite writer out there, but as SiP went on I kind of lost interest with where he took it…he’s still a great writer (and a great writer and creator of female characters) but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. But maybe with Echo we can have another little affair. So check in on SHNH from time to time…maybe I’ll surprise you with something!

Thanks! I’d love to hear at least one issue or a trade talked about on 3chicks. Or at least a “farewell” discussion as the series is ending this year with issue 30. I think Moore deserves a lot of praise for his representation of women and gays in Echo. I totally agree with your coments on the podcast about seeing the same ol’ thing in comics. Echo was definitely not the same ol’ thing IMO but I never once heard any comic book site talk about it. It was so frustrating!!! lol

@Vantine. When I was speaking about Rucka being able to write women I was focusing on writers at DC only. I am a huge Terry Moore fan, loved SiP and rec it a lot. Like Kelly, I picked up a few copies of the floppy and it didn’t work for me. It may be that reading it in trades will work better for me (coincidentally that is how I read SiP as well). I’ve got them on my list for 2011 reading.
