Interesting discussion this week in regards to the “does Power Girl/WW/etc. need a secret identity” question. I didn’t really give it much thought until you discussed it that these may not be characters who really don’t need secret identities all told.
Thing is, I wonder if they’d be allowed to. There was a time in the 2000s when damn near every secret identity at Marvel got outed , but I don’t recall if it was just male characters or what. I wondered if there was some implicit notion that only male superheroes can be out and proud but there’s an assumption that female characters have “more to lose” or can have more and grievous harm come to them or something, which is a theory with its own unpleasant subtexts, I suppose.
I don’t know if reality will prove out that assertion, and it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution, but I’d be kinda interested to see a character like a Power Girl or a Wonder Woman just say “nahh, I didn’t see the point of putting on a pair of glasses and pretending.”
Anyways, just wanted to comment. Really enjoying these podcasts!

I’m so behind on these. Unfortunately my life rarely allows for me to sit down and listen for the full duration, and my attention span is…flighty. But I really love the ones I’ve listened to and try to throw it on any time I’mdoing stuff around the house (the only time I can really focus on audio for that long, oddly)
Love the show. Very behind, but love it and want to voice support so you know you’re not transmitting into a void.
