Panels of the Week – 10/12/11

It’s just too damn hard to scan pages out of J.H. Williams III’s Batwoman on my itty bitty scanner…also, I’d need to scan like the whole damn book for this feature, so I’m just going to use this (which I grabbed from DC Women Kicking Ass before it was lettered) as the STUNNING panels of the week.  Amazing stuff.

I read a review – I think it was in The New York Times – that said Batwoman just does not work on tablets at all because the layouts are so complex. Which I love, ’cause I like my media to be medium-specific, taking full advantage of the structure (both the limitations and the opportunities) inherent. There are online comics that likewise would not work as well printed.

Please note that this is not a knock at eComics, just that I enjoy how much Williams art embraces and utilizes the medium to a level that has rarely been approached (in American comics, anyway), and never embraced so whole-heartedly to my recollection.
