Yeah…I’m old.

Last one…and of course it’s Bats and Cats.

There are a million good Bruce & Selina images out there but these are both recent favorites for me – one in that it was actually recently released, and one that I just recently discovered. Both are awesome.

Wonder Woman never gets sexy sexy times.  It sucks.

So here’s some alt Ben Caldwell Wonder Woman gettin’ some love.

This second one seems kind of sad because he looks maybe hurt…or unconscious…or dead.  STILL COUNTS. PLUS THERE IS SEXY RAIN!

Kate and Renee.  Love it.  How can we get these two kids back together?

Just to be clear…some time passes here…quite a bit of time…

Some Rogue love. As a kid I LOVED Rogue and Gambit.  Then Gambit became a douche (Rogue kind of did too). But there was a time when nothing could make my little fangirl heart go BANG BANG BANG in my chest like the below…

But there are times when I was into Rogue and Magneto…sometimes I hate it…sometimes I think it’s pretty damn good.  Pretty hard to resist this for example:

And there was Rogue and Joseph…which I still don’t understand for sure who he was or wasn’t (I got bored and gave up and mostly don’t care) but he did seem to be a guy that Rogue actually deserved…and that deserved her.

I was always partial to Nightcrawler and Cerise.  Plus, Alan Davis art never hurts.  Also, look at the guns on Cerise!? Awesome.  Too bad I can’t read either of these characters anymore.  Boo. :(

Some awesome stuff has happened over the last few days…I’m going to pretend it’s all in honor of my birthday…some of it straight up is…the rest is a stretch… :)

1. Tara O’Connor, writer and artist extraordinare (and aka gingercurls) did an AWESOME original sketch for my birthday of Rogue with her costume nice and zipped up…something I’m sure most of you are aware is a serious pet peeve of mine.  Thank you Tara!  Check it out!  FYI – you can commission original work from Tara here.

I love the sound effect!

2.  There’s been some serious movement on my book…the revision is locked and we’re preparing to sub to publishers. Slow and steady wins the race let’s hope, but I do hope to have some solid updates soon.

3.  I did a fun birthday bit on She Has No Head! yesterday.  And already Matt Southworth is helping my wishes come to fruition.

4.  5 Minute Marvels did a special “Kelly Birthday Post” drawing of the Tiny Titans – they look awesome. Thanks guys!

5.  I also got a fantastic birthday sketch from my artist friend Ross Campbell…but I can’t show you guys that one yet as it relates to my novel.  Perhaps I’ll post a teaser as things start to develop on that front.  :)

comics, cake, champagne

6.  There were a few of my favorite things…namely…comics, cake, and champagne (all c’s…weird) to be had at my house…not to mention the beginnings of Season 5 of The Wire since the weather was hideously gross and I had no desire to leave the house…but really…what could be better than all of that?

All in all…not too damn bad.  Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes – and presents!

Since this cartoon still holds so true to my life, I thought I’d treat you all to an old Rabid Lamb strip about Easter.  Enjoy!  And Happy Easter to those of you who know and care!

Adam got me an awesome Wacom Tablet for our anniversary this year so that I could try a little digital drawing, inking, etc., I tend to prefer traditional mediums (y’know paper, pencils, pens, etc.) but I really really hate scanning (especially with my scanner)…and drawing on a Wacom…well, it eliminates all scanning.  So, win!

Anyway, here’s my first pass at a little inking of an old sketch on the Wacom.  Good times.  Let’s hope I get better with practice.  You’ll note that I didn’t ink any of the truly hard stuff…hands, feet, y’know things with details that take a precise hand.  It’s how I roll.

Other favorite presents this year?  I got lots of great stuff including a Jeffrey Brown journal from Adam with Jeffrey Brown style kitties all over it:

Adam also got me some sweet new boots and from my parents a much needed replacement “fit and fast” blender for making fruit protein shakes as mine crashed and burned after about 20 uses this summer (hopefully this one is built to last0, a few great books (one I read yesterday – go me!) and a check that will hopefully be paying the bulk of my March rent if I’m still out of work.  That one is the least exciting, but sadly the most necessary.  It was a great haul of presents all around (hopefully I gave as well as I got).  Though, as the first year that I didn’t go home for Christmas, I have to say I would rather have seen everyone than have gotten anything at all.  Next year perhaps.
