Several people won multiple years in a row, the IT guy, a really great guy, won a the major prize last year (ironically, a computer) and then again this year won an Ipod Nano. The receptionist, a really great girl, won a stereo last year and a digital camera this year. I don’t think anyone really minded about those duplicate wins. But when an exec, one of the highest paid people at a company wins four years in a row and doesn’t turn down the prize any of those years? People start to get grumbly.
Sadly I have never won. In fact only one person has ever won from our little sister company and that was a guest of one of our staff, he won an ipod shuffle last year. It was exciting to feel we were even getting remotely close to being able to win…

Oh yeah, have had many of those raffles at work too. And working for a large company, we get some decent budgets. For our holiday party this year, we had two large TVs, a Wii, an XBOX 360, several iPods, about 20 or 30 gift cards ranging from $50 to $500, about 10 worth $1,000, and the super prize of a vacation for two anywhere in the US. But of course, none of my team wins (including myself). Even the raffles where I control the tickets, drawings, prize order, etc. Nope, I’ve only won twice, both for about $5. Woopee.
And I agree, any exec that wins, should give it back. They never should have taken a ticket to begin with. Managers, eh, maybe. Depends on how high up the food chain they are.
Oh, and Merry Christmas!
