This was so great.  One of the cutest things ever.  Unfortunately Adam almost never remembers his dreams, so we’ll probably never know what he’s laughing about in there…

This is a pretty accurate representation of what happens to me when I drink those margaritas…I love them!

Can you feel the sarcasm?  Oh, yeah…

The movie was great, just a bit too close to home occasionally.  I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Baumbach’s work…not as good as Squid & The Whale, but still great.

That’s the real problem with Thanksgving…if it was just one day of pigging out it wouldn’t be so deadly, but there are leftovers for just days and days and days…

Hope you all had a great one.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I don’t know about Adam, but I’m going to try to starve myself so that we can have a shot at eating a tenth of what we prepare today…I at least need a taste of everything, after all that slaving. That’s another thing, after spending all day in the kitchen preparing the food, I always find I’ve got less of an appetite for it. I guess just looking at food and having your hands in it for hours on end is not so great for the appetite…good for the figure…not so good for the appetite.

I decided to make butternut squash souffle instead of sweet potato souffle, mostly due to a shopping error, and it’s a first time for that, so we’ll see how it turns out. The homemade dressing (my mother’s recipe) is really the thing I wait all year for…mmmm.

Anyway, have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I hope you are all lucky enough to be with loved ones, be it friends or family…and if it’s the latter I hope you are able to retain your sanity and maybe escape from them later today to a quiet corner with a book…

Home today, taking a well deserved day off, since it turns out I never managed to take a real legitimate vacation this year and I’ll be damned if one single vacation day goes unused. I’m excited to have a nice little chunk of holiday time off to get some things accomplished, although I looked at my to do list and it’s clear I live in a complete fantasy land…I’ll be lucky if I get a third of it done. Wish me luck…I’ll be posting a special Thanksgiving comic tomorrow, so if you’re bored and trying to escape family, be sure to check in.

Happy Holidays!

We’ll all know soon enough I suppose…

Ugh.  This was so painful guys.  The lead actor was the worst, most wooden actor I think I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing, but none of the performances were good and the effects were not good, not even for 1981, and it just seemed so dated and weak.  Just terrible, and then to top it off we watched The Omega Man as well, which was equally brutal.  Probably a worse movie overall, but with Omega I had less hopeful expectations.  Let’s just hope I’ve gotten the bad movie watching out of my system as Margot At The Wedding; Southland Tales; I’m Not There; and hopefully The Night Porter are all on tap for the long Thanksgiving weekend.  I’m really only worried about Southland Tales…fingers crossed though.

Check out good reviews of both The Omega Man and Scanners by Adam on his blog.

While I did edit down, I still got two.  I have no self control when it comes to books.  It’s a shame.  Someday though I’ll have a massive (impressive) library and thousands of dollars of credit card debt to show for it…wait…I already have the credit card debt…hmmm…
