Any week that The New York Five comes out is a rough week for anyone else to win cover of the week as I am just loving Ryan Kelly’s covers for this series.  There’s honestly nothing I haven’t adored about each issue’s cover so far, and issue #3 is one of my favorites, check it out:

So this week was an embarrassment of great panels…so rather than torturing myself trying to decide, I’m just gonna show you a whole bunch.  Enjoy!

Some awesomeness from Power Girl #22 courtesy of Judd Winick and Sam Basri:

A hilarious bit from Nick Spencer on Morning Glories #8, I’d like Dead Poets Society so much more if it had Casey’s ending!:

Some cool and hero-y action from Rick Remender and Rafael Albuquerque in Uncanny X-Force #5.1

As well as some Psylocke being all badass and ninja-y also in Uncanny X-Force #5.1

And in a fantastic issue of Generation Hope (by far the best yet) thanks to a good script by Kieron Gillen and some sweet Jamie McKelvie art, a few Emma Frost tidbits:

Oh Emma, you’re such a delicious bitch:

Bring it on comics…I expect this much good stuff next week as well because I’M GREEDY!

Northlanders #38 (The Siege Of Paris: 2) is an easy win for Cover Of The Week this week – with Massimo Carnevale’s gorgeous image that feels both up close and personal, and also epic and battle worthy (check out the city and torchlight in the background).  His great use of lights and darks, composition, and color…it’s just beautiful.

Yikers.

There’s a good discussion going on over on CSBG

My two cents is that this is a huge misstep, not just in the super cheap looking costume itself (and the hair and make-up, which are also really bad) but in the way it’s been revealed. Palicki looks uncomfortable at best and miserable at worst as she poses awkwardly in bright light in a white room with no context.  She’s not channeling a single “Diana” thing in this image…what is that expression supposed to be other than “what the hell have I gotten myself into?”

How much more interesting would a “real life” version take on this be (with or without the eagles of course!):

Or hell, even an updated version of this:

Then again, maybe this is about lowering expectations?  If so, congratulations to everyone involved!
