This week on She Has No Head! I take a swing at my own DC 52 line up. It was fun, but exhausting…take a look!

“Uncanny X-Men” is a solid and pretty book, and there’s nothing especially wrong with it. However it’s also not anything you’ll think about a half hour after you’ve finished reading it. This means that it’s better than a whole lot of comics out there, but certainly not living up to its potential with the current creative team..”

““Supergirl” #65 marks only the second time a woman has ever written “Supergirl.” And the other woman was actress Helen Slater, who co-wrote issue #50. To say there was a lot of pressure for Kelly Sue DeConnick to deliver is an understatement. I’m happy to report that she hit it out of the park.”

A tie this week between two great offerings from DC, first up…
Flashpoint: Deadman & The Flying Graysons #1 by Cliff Chiang and Jared Fletcher. I kinda doubt I’m going to love the issue itself, but the cover is GORG.
Second, a gorgeous Supergirl #65 by Mahmud Asrar and Guy Major. I miss Amy Reeder on these, but this is a great consolation prize. I wish we could have it with the title, but without the hideous Green Lantern ad bar (so ugly). It’s great work though – wonderful composition, rendering of Supergirl, darks and lights…really fantastic stuff.

““Wonder Woman And The Furies” #1 is a book I did not expect to like given some of the promotional material and my dislike of seeing the Amazons presented as crazy man-hating warriors thirsty for blood. However, against all odds Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning turn in a fairly interesting story that sets a reasonable stage for the war fans know is coming crashing through “Flashpoint” this summer…”
