I hear your hair is one of your best attributes, but not washing it for a couple of days? You’re going to have nappy, funky hair instead of working out? With cookies? Shame on you…..shame shame shame……now get to the gym.

Dear TK42ONE…you do not understand much about women’s hair…and particularly expensive hair color. Let me educate you :)

First of all, it is very bad to wash your hair everyday if you are a woman, regardless of hair color, and especially if you have long hair. Washing your hair everyday strips all the natural oils out of it. I personally, like my hair nice and clean and hate when it feels oily at all, so I have trouble skipping a day of washing it, but I try very hard to wash it no more than 5 times a week, for the sake of the health of my hair.

Secondly, in regards to hair color/salon visits, the shit is expensive. So the longer I can go without washing out that first color, letting it set, the better it looks for longer. This never seems that important when it has first been colored because it looks awesome all the time, but I am always kicking myself six weeks later when it looks crappy because I didn’t take enough care of it. Best case scenario is if I go to the salon on a Sunday to try not to wash it until Tuesday night. Ususally, because a salon visit is so decadent to my hair anyway, it isn’t too bad and still looks pretty good by Tuesday night.

Thirdly, how your hair looks after skipping a day of washing is largely dependant on how much product you use and what kind. I use very little product.

Lastly, I have never EVER had nappy funky hair (except maybe in the death throws of illness) and shame on you for suggesting such a thing would be possible!

Okay, this closes out our lesson on women’s hair…please feel free to throw some change in the tip jar on your way out… :)

I have never understood women’s hair. That’s why I like girls with short hair. That I can get.

Mmm cookies. Always a good distraction!

I personally prefer the Sinead O’Conner look myself. For me, not women. And like Paul said, for those girls I can get, I prefer short hair. Long hair tickles too much when it dangles in my face.

I appreciate the lesson but regret I don’t have any change to spare.

Paul: I liked short hair when I had it…and I often toy with the idea of going back, I’m sure I will at some point, but Adam prefers long hair, so for now, I keep it nice and long.

    COOKIES!!!!!!!

TK42ONE: Another vote for short hair. I’m shocked. They (and by they I mean magazines, tv, society, etc.) tell women all the time that men prefer long hair…glad to see it largely proved wrong here on my blog :)

Maybe you should take your poll from a larger cross section of society. 😉

    ummm… procrastination… I wouldn’t be me if it weren’t a part of me! 😀

but tell me this.. you decided on the reasons after seeing the cookies or the way you have explained? 😛

arun: like pretty much all my comics his one is part fiction part reality…in that i often think of cookies or something bad after deciding i have yet another reason to postpone working out…thus making workouts even more pointless and difficult. :)

    haha…. gotcha..

Cookies are good…working out sucks…lesson learned.

I too like short hair, though hair has never been a deciding factor for me on dating (etc..) someone.
