I have become greedy and thus as my stats “fall” on Amazon Kindle I find it “Lemon Grab-Level UNACCEPTABLE!”

Get out there and viral this puppy, kids so I can stop screaming UNACCEPTABLE (in my head…and sometimes out loud).

UPDAATED!

Oh man…I had to update this! So I did this sketch again (and did a much better job – practice, yo!) – but most importantly Adam inked it for me – he’s SUCH A GOOD INKER. If this doesn’t show the power of a great inker I don’t know what does!

He also made some small drawing changes that super helped too. AMAZING. I’m in love with how it looks now and am going to pretend *I* did all by my lonesome! 😉

Pencils by Kelly Thompson, inks by Adam Greene

Felt the urge for some sketching this week. Did a fun one of Bonnie and Lola that I wanted to share with you all.

It’s also a great opportunity to remind you to BUY THE BOOK THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING.

You can buy digital and paperback copies on Amazon, and limited edition illustrated hardcovers (and cool swag) on TGWWBK website.

Also, if you’ve already purchased and read, but have not yet reviewed TGWWBK…get on that, son!

If you haven’t read Lola’s story yet in THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING, what are you waiting for?

Buy digital and paperback on Amazon, or limited edition illustrated hardcovers (and extras!) at: The Girl Who Would Be King.com

And for those of you that have read, but haven’t yet reviewed it…get on that! 😉

Yessss!

Thank you again to Rob Bricken at io9, who says “The Girl Who Would Be King introduces the best superhero/villain pair in ages”

and “Lola is, without hyperbole, one of the most fantastic antagonists I’ve ever had the pleasure to read.” among other amazing things!

It was his rave review of TGWWBK on Thursday evening that gave us the big push we needed. Check out these awesome screen caps:

And in case you still don’t know where to get a copy – you can buy a kindle version or a paperback via AMAZON. For limited edition illustrated hardcovers, head over to THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING website. There’s also some awesome swag, limited edition prints, and such on the website if you fall in love with some of the art.

If you really want a digital copy but want it for a Nook or iPad (and don’t want to steal it – and please don’t do that) those epub editions will be available again in April. If you email me (1979semifinalist[at]gmail) I’d be happy to add you to a mailing list so you can be notified when other digital editions become available again.

And thanks to all of you that have been so supportive over the months – giving great reviews, retweeting, and blogging about the book – could not have done it without you – here’s to this only being the beginning for this book…I mean, who doesn’t want to see the movie?!?

– Kelly

Awesome news today, kids (and boy could I use it) – THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING got a rave review from io9’s Rob Bricken today!

Check it out.

Also, it’s probably a good time to re-post the trailer, in case you’ve missed it. Also, definitely make sure the sound is on, as the music by Speed Speed Speed makes it!

Oh – and I’m going to need to update the trailer with those amazing io9 quotes!

Two new blog reviews went up today for THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING – both rate the book 4.5 stars.

The first is from THE PREEMINENT LITTERATEUR and TGWWBK was the first book read in her Theme Month for March – “GIRL SQUARED.”

Caitlin sums it up as: “My love for this book has been like a stick of dynamite with a long fuse. It snuck up on me, and now I am eagerly awaiting sequels and movies.”

The second review is from Miranda from ON THE NIGHTSTAND and she sums it up as “everything [I’ve] ever wanted in a comic book, in book form.”

Thanks Ladies!

You all know where to buy the limited edition illustrated hardcovers, right???

The lovely Tim Hanley recently gave THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING a fantastic review over on his blog Straightened Circumstances saying “The story never goes where you think it’s going to; it’s always darker and more exciting than you’d expect.”

And over on A.A. Omer’s blog TGWWBK gets a nice review and a 5/5 star rating!

We’re also up to 45 reviews on Amazon (US) and have 5 stars! Pretty awesome, kids.

In other badass TGWWBK news – a TGWWBK superfan has purchased every single thing related to the book that currently exists – all prints and editions, everything!

He recently got everything in the mail and was kind enough to send in some pictures – it’s a pretty incredible collection!

All the signed prints!

And he also included a photo of ALL the swag. So much stuff!

And of course you guys know you can buy almost all of this at THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING STORE, right?  AND there’s a sale going on now! :)

Thanks to all of you who participated – this was so fun for me!  I hoped we’d get more, but I always want more, I’m greedy that way.

In the meantime, less is good for those of you that entered! 😉 We did not get to 15 entries, so there will be only one winner today. Below are all the entries I received (in random order)…and the winner (drawn at random as per the rules) is at the bottom!

Our first entry is from Jessie Dawn and you can find her at both these links!

Second entry is from Natacha Bustos!
