I think it speaks to Adam’s confidence that he let me go ahead with this comic :)

I half expected him to hand it back to me when I asked him to scan it, and simply say, “no way.” But Adam has a great sense of humor, and so here we are, laughing at stick figure Adam’s expense. Make sure to tune in Monday as I have great things planned for stick figure Adam.

I hope you all have great things planned for the weekend. With my website work (for my job) almost complete (my part is pretty much done, but there were a few kinks as always) I have taken a couple much needed days off – Friday, Monday, and Tuesday morning – all actually at the request of my awesome boss – to “take a break and recharge – you did great work – now rest” – which means I’m not using up any vacation time…yay!

Adam and I plan to see My Blueberry Nights and Married Life, I have fantasies of Urban Lobster (as always), and we’ll probably do a little shopping (very little – no money!), some apartment “improvements” and I hope to get very very caught up on my writing, which has been languishing while this web project took over my life. What about you guys?

PS – I liked just the circle goatee around Adam’s mouth in the previous strip, but Adam kind of thought it looked like I was doing some kind of bizarre black face, which sounded terrible, so I tried something new that I’m not wild about. Thoughts?

I’ve gotten a tiny little taste of semi-fame and I’ll tell you what, I’d pretty much like some more.

Adam and I went to dinner and a movie last night downtown after my salon visit (it’s always a shame to waste super awesome hair by just going straight home – though I’m not sure a dark movie theater is really the place to be showing off awesome locks).  Anyway, we went to my new favorite place, which I’ve talked about before, Urban Lobster.  As we’re walking inside, Adam grabs me and says, “Oh my god – Kelly look.”  And sure enough, taped up in the window with some of their recent reviews, is Rabid Lamb Comic #70 in which I proclaimed my love for Urban Lobster.  Hilarious and awesome.

We had our, as usual, delicious meal, and upon leaving we saw the strip and blurb I wrote about Urban posted up on an exterior wall as well.  It was pretty much awesome.  I took a picture of the ad in the window with my phone, it’s pretty tiny and crappy since it was taken on a phone, but check it out below.

Adam asked me if I had any regrets about the comic now that it was posted up on a public wall, and I said yes, for sure, I wished I’d drawn it better as I particularly hate panel one (panel two I actually love and three and four are passable, though the text is a bit wonky) but this is actually a bit of a conundrum.  I know I can draw better than what I crank out for Rabid Lamb, but I’m just too busy and posting daily is just too fast and intense for me to put in the necessary time to get everything drawn at a level I’d be more happy with.  I don’t know, I’m going to have to think about it.  Anyone have any thoughts?

Sidenote:  I’ve decided that should I ever be on Death Row, my last meal request will be “Lobster Bisque, Lobster Roll and Mashed Potatoes from Urban Lobster”…It’s definitely carb heavy, but it’s my last meal…might as well live it up right?

It’s true, though I love a lobster roll, I didn’t actually discover them until June of 2007, when Adam and I went on a trip to see Ween in concert in New Hampshire (amazing show).  While in New Hampshire we went to Maine specifically to visit a restaurant we’d read about called Haraseeket Lobster in Freeport Maine.   That was my first lobster roll and I proceeded to eat them all weekend at any location that I could get my hands on them…and ever since that trip I have been looking for excellent lobster rolls here in the city.

Urban Lobster has become my favorite new NYC eatery, specifically for it’s amazing lobster roll.  It’s on the lower east side (LES), so it’s not exactly convenient for a meal anytime since we are on the Upper East Side (UES) – only 90 odd blocks away – no problem!  But since it is NYC everything is a pretty decent bus or subway ride away, and the East Village area (which is only a few blocks from Urban) is one of my favorite places to go on weekends, so it has pretty much become what I crave everytime we leave our neighborhood.  I suppose it is a good thing I can’t just order it anytime I want or I’d be looking at even MORE weight gain…not to mention I’d be broke…it is lobster people…even though it’s in sandwich format it’s not exactly cheap. :)
